Hey folks!  First, thanks to all who have been submitting their daily votes for us in the Mobbies!  We really appreciate all of your support, so keep it up!  You can vote once a day by clicking HERE until Nov. 12 at 5pm.

We also wanted to let you know about two exciting (and yummy) charity events happening over the next few weeks...

Life is Sweet: A Pastry Chef Showcase for Best Buddies of Maryland

Xani and I are lucky enough to attend this fabulous foodie event, Life is Sweet Baltimore, a Pastry Chef Showcase for Best Buddies of Maryland.  The event is taking place Tuesday, November 9 from 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm at the Penthouses at Silo Point (we've always wanted to see what it's like on the inside - finally our chance!) and will feature tastings from some of Baltimore’s top chefs and restaurants like Blue Hill Tavern, Milan, Patisserie Poupon, Mr. Rain’s Fun House, and even Chef Leo whom many remember for defeating Bobby Flay on Throwdown!  The event will also have apps from Ruth’s Chris, a specialty Bacardi cocktail bar, beer and wine (all food and drink and are included in the ticket price), and live music.  Additionally there will be a silent auction where you will have the opportunity to bid an array of fantastic items.

Best Buddies is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing and impacting the lives of over 37,000 people with intellectual and development disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and leadership development. They operate programs in middle schools, high schools, colleges, and communities across the country.

2010 March of Dimes Signature Chefs of Baltimore

Later this month is the 2010 March of Dimes Signature Chefs of Baltimore event, which promises to be both delicious and heartwarming as twenty of the area’s most celebrated chefs pull together for a great cause.  The event will be held on Monday, November 15 at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel and will host chefs John Taylor from Oceanaire, Winston Blick of Clementine, Nino Germano of La Scala, Matthew Milani of Rumor Mill, and Barry Fleischmann of Innovative Gourmet, among several other restaurants. The chefs will be preparing some of their most well-known dishes to raise money and awareness for the March of Dimes mission.

Giving to charity AND getting a nice meal?  Can't beat that.  Do some mitzvot, it'll make you feel better.

Cheers, and thanks for your votes!!
